Meghan Markle may officially reside at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, England, but she is reportedly homesick—and house hunting back in her old stomping grounds near Los Angeles.
“Meghan and Harry are looking for a place out here. I have heard that they are interested in Malibu,” Edmund Fry—an L.A.-area tearoom owner who once instructed the Duchess of Sussex in etiquette—told the Daily Express. “Knowing Meghan and talking to her, she misses home. Meghan is a Los Angeles girl, born and raised here with many links to Hollywood and friends here.”
Currently there are 488 homes for sale in Malibu for a median price of $3.3 million. Surely Markle has at least that much to spend. But where exactly should she live?
To help the duchess with her house hunt, we scoured our real estate listings in Malibu for places that meet her standards. Here are our top recommendations.
Features: This three-story, four-bedroom, four-bath, French country villa–style beach home is situated in one of Malibu’s most exclusive gated communities—ideal if Markle wants to avoid paparazzi and other prying eyes. This 3,984-square-foot home also has direct beach access, a huge plus.
Features: With seven bedrooms and 7.5 baths, this home offers plenty of room for Markle and all of her old L.A. friends. This Mediterranean contemporary mansion may not be right by the beach, but its sweeping views of the coastline more than make up for it.
Features: If Markle is craving a vibe that’s more traditional castle with turrets, this five-bedroom, 7.5-bath estate delivers. It also has two detached guesthouses, which would be ideal for long-term guests from across the pond.
Features: If Markle is up for a real splurge, she can buy the most expensive house for sale in Malibu! At 12,000 square feet, this midcentury modern marvel designed by Scott Gillen offers plenty of idyllic water features and a minimalist style.
Features: How could Markle resist this beauty, perched on the rocks at water’s edge? Its European-style interior may be on the smaller side with three beds and 4.5 baths, but its grand location is the main selling point.
